Rituals
Change is often difficult. Self-discipline is usually insufficient when it comes to fulfilling our commitments, even those that are good for us - which is why New Year's resolutions often fail.
Instead of focusing on cultivating self-discipline as a means toward change, you might introduce rituals. Building rituals requires defining very precise behaviors and performing them at very specific times.
Be it meditating after waking, walking daily, a weekly special date with your partner, you need to form rituals around them.
What rituals would make you happier and healthier?
What would you like to introduce to your life?
Introduce no more than one or two rituals at a time, and make sure they become habits before you introduce new ones.
Incremental change is better than ambitious failure.
