Really seeing what is there

January 13, 9:03

This is getting freaky.

I’ve started to really LOOK at my stuff. Like the bookshelves in the living room. Of course there are books there. But also a lot of “Nippes” – the German (jewish?) word for bric-a-brac, knick-knack, dust-catchers. Since the huge basket that once housed my magazines was empty, I started using it as a container for all the stuff I took out of the shelves which  didn’t make my heart sing anymore. Lots of beautiful blue bottles, some quaint figures brought back from Mexico and two elaborately decorated wine glasses. I at one time adored them and the lovely accent they made in my eggshell-colored room.

I’ve been dreading the idea of selling this stuff – going online, offering each separate item, packing and shipping makes me gag. But what if I turned this into a one-shot event? Where I doll everything up, offer the stuff at a flea market and then finished. Done. All gone to new homes. There must be a way to do this up right and enjoy it.
