Yippee! This is fun!
I am going through the apartment and yanking stuff off shelves, windowsills and tables.
Like the bottles I've brought from one apartment to the next. Empty bottles that look kinda cool. I think I've been out of that phase since 2001. Instead, I just dust the dumb things and have no since of joy when looking at them. They are always in the way when I want to clean the windows.
But not anymore.
I pulled all the VHS videos which I had taped myself. The commercial ones like exercise videos I'll give to a library. Except they are mostly from America, which means I need to take them over the next time I go. Or could I give them to my son to take back?? No, he'll kill me if I ask.
I tossed vinegar and oil bottles from the kitchen. The things have been roosting unused there for years but I feel less and less like using them. Wonder why. ;-)
I've got candles that melted while in a hot window years ago. Now, the candles just droop down like Dali's melting pocket watches. Rather fascinating, I must admit. Still, I haven't really LOOKED at them in ten years. So, I'll take a picture of them and say adieu.
I also have an orchid collection of about twenty plants. As soon as they blossom, I'll present them to someone I appreciate and let them enjoy the blooms. And they get to water the suckers! It takes me about 45 minutes per week to water all my plants. I really could enjoy just one blooming plant. The darlings have taken the saying "be plentiful and multiply" too seriously.
Off to find more things that are looking for new owners.
